Mariann is the database manager for the Brigham MS Center at BWH. She received her MS degree in mathematics from the University of Debrecen in Hungary, where she also got her first practical training on databases at the Computer Center of the Medical University of Debrecen. Moving to Massachusetts after spending several years in Switzerland and raising a family, she rediscovered her love for data and took her passion to the next level by developing deeper knowledge through several courses on modern database development and programming. She joined the Partners MS Center in 2000 and developed a research database application that is today used in every aspect of the Center’s work, helping provide data to numerous publications that have impacted the clinical care provided for MS patients, as well as assisting in streamlining the efficiencies of standard operating procedures and workflows. Mariann is also a devoted community volunteer, a well-known and recognized organizer in the Boston area’s Hungarian community.
