Dr. Danielle Caefer received her B.S. of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering and B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut. She also received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Connecticut in the Schwartz Lab. Her Ph.D. research focused on using proteomic methods to characterize changes to the phosphoproteome associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. This work identified several disease-associated kinase variants that are part of an emerging class that alter substrate specificity beyond the traditional “gain” or “loss of function”. When not working in lab, Danielle enjoys figure skating and teaching barre classes.
